All events hugely successful!

In Sydney he capacity audience was captivated by Nora who could have talked for days on this subject! Dr Ron Ehrlich's introduction with Dr Weston A Price's photos was fascinating,  Bruce Ward's presentation of how large herds of grazing cattle can regenerate degraded land while providing inexpensive nutrient dense food was an eye opener for the city audience and Costa's "Produce not Product" talk was hugely entertaining with a serous message. The  food by Agape Organic Restaurant was sublime! A great day!

In Armidale David  Mason-Jones showed why  grass-fed meat should be on the menu and Rob Blomfield's story about his health transformation was rivetting.

At the Gold Coast Tony Lovell's presentation on cattle,  land regeneration and methane challenged the "cattle are bad for the environment" dogma.

We will soon have a page with stories, photos, feedback and links so please contact us if you would like to contribute. Here's an example of a happy attendee.

Traditional Foods Network

Connecting people and food - a campaign of Nourishing Australia

tfn_hands

Nourishing traditional foods are your best medicine!

 sauerkraut

Our Traditional foods Network is about connecting like-minded people and communities to farms and other sources of traditional foods. Hypocrates said "Let food be thy medicine". Unfortunately much of what passes for foods today is often the cause of many illnesses. (Author Michael Pollan calls them  "food-like substances"). We need foods that can sustain, build and repair healthy bodies - foods that are nutrient-dense.

Our intention is to support those trying to create better health through education. We believe there is much to be learned from dietary practices based on the the ancient wisdom of traditional cultures as shown by the research of Dr Weston Price and other researchers such as Dr Francis Pottenger, Dr Royal Lee, McHarrison and more.

We recommend eating local, seasonal and certified organic wherever possible or at least chemical free if you know the farm and the farmer. Just as we are what we eat, we are also what our meat eats so it is extremely important that the animals that we eat have been raised in a natural environment eating what nature intended. Grass-fed/free-range animal foods have many beneficial nutrients that are not present in factory farmed animal foods. In fact, butter and organ meats from pasture-fed animals and organic free-range eggs are two of the most nutrient-dense foods we can eat.

One of our most fundamental messages is that animal fats and cholesterol are not villains but vital factors in the diet, necessary for normal growth, proper function of the brain and nervous system, protection from disease and optimum energy levels. You will find more information on fats and cholesterol our articles and links pages.

By returning to traditional nutrient dense traditional foods  we can reverse the societal trend of physical degeneration and build a healthier generation for today and the future. Join us for the journey back to the foods that make sense for your body - and away from those promoted by the multibillion dollar food industry as "healthy" foods that actually diminish your health.

Make sure you see the movie "Food Inc" which is a terrific expose of the industrial  food system in the US. This system is being exported around the globe by companies like Monsanto.

You can learn how to prepare delicious meals loaded with nutrition to give your body all it needs to prevent illness and disease and enjoy a higher quality of life.
